History

The history of Crescent Public School is a story of vision, perseverance, and an unwavering belief in the transformative power of education. Every milestone in its journey reflects the dedication of individuals who dreamed of creating an institution that would nurture young minds and contribute meaningfully to society.

The school traces its origins to 6 June 1995, when its first Nursery section commenced in a modest shed on Anamala Road, on land graciously provided by the then Chairman of the Crescent Educational Society, Mr. C. M. Haroon. Under the leadership of the founding Principal, Mr. P. C. Philip, and with the commitment of the pioneering faculty—Mrs. Lakshmi Subramaniam, Mrs. Rehna Muhasin, and Mrs. Juliet Denny—supported by Mr. V. Subramaniam as Accountant, the institution embarked on its remarkable educational journey.

The inaugural school bell was rung by the then Vice Chairman, Mr. P. B. Mohammed Iqbal, symbolising the beginning of a vision that would continue to inspire generations. What began with 30 students and a small but deeply committed team was sustained not by abundant resources, but by an extraordinary spirit of dedication, optimism, and purpose.

Those humble beginnings became the cornerstone of an institution founded on the conviction that education has the power to transform lives. Every challenge encountered strengthened the resolve of its founders, every achievement reinforced their vision, and every student who walked through its doors became part of a growing legacy.

From that modest beginning in 1995, Crescent Public School has evolved into a distinguished centre of learning, serving generations of students with distinction while remaining steadfast in the values upon which it was founded. Today, the institution continues to honour its heritage by embracing innovation, pursuing academic excellence, and nurturing young individuals who are prepared to contribute thoughtfully and responsibly to an ever-changing world.
